Robin, I looked at the Simply Eat info. Having been there, done that with so many "diets", "eating plans", ... I am wondering if this is similar to anything that I might already own. I realize that you can not see my book shelves so you don't know what I have, but I would like to chat about this.

Robin, I have heard about soaking, and in fact always soak my beans before cooking, but I just do an over night soak. Will 24 hours really make a difference?

I get so bloated from eating the "good stuff" and I am so frustrated. Since having my last two babes, who are 7 and 8 now, I have not been able to lose weight. The only time I had any success was when I was on a liquid fast for a week. This is not something I can maintain, nor wish to.

My metabolism seems to be very sluggish, my energy level is low, I'm in peri-menopause (I think) and I'm tired of being fat and tired!

I really want to go to our Naturopath to get a full blood work up done. Not in our budget quite yet, but I also have to consider the possibility of supplements... that I may need to take to get things all back to good shape, and that is definitely not in the budget either.

I really want to be proactive, but I'm a bit past the preventive stage now and just want to find the right foods, so that I do not feel pumped full of air or plugged up from. Ah, is that possible? ;)

Connie - Living in the South must have been great! I grew up in the Midwest and my family NEVER ate split peas, black beans, or lentils. Can you believe it?!
So, after I got married and began eating more variety, I tried and like them all. They are so healthy and there is SO MUCH a cook can do with them.

Thanks for stopping by! I had jury duty this month and my blog missed me, but, I am back! :)

I cook legumes (split peas, black beans, and lentils are my favorites) twice each week. I always soak them for 24 hours because that was how I was taught when I lived in the South. Now I finally know why! Thank you for this informative material. I will visit your site often.
