What Must You Do to Take Care of Others?

January 31, 2008 By: Robin Category: Healthy Living No Comments →

Many people were brought up to be caring individuals, to be concerned with the welfare of others and to serve others. After all, the servant is the greatest of all.

All of this is noble, and good, and moral, and decent, and just plain right to do. So – how can the caregiver justify taking care of herself. And I say “herself” simply because most caregivers are women. A caregiver is also frequently a man.

Well, If one does not take care of himself, or herself first, the caregiver will sooner or later find it harder and harder and then next to impossible to take care of anyone else.

So, the lesson here is this. Be balanced. Take care of others. But, along the way, take care of yourself as well. If you have not been in the habit of this, it is well worth the effort to work on this area of your life now. After all, when we take care of ourselves, we usually live longer, healthier, happier, more productive, and satisfying lives. And, the people we care for – our spouse, our children, our grandchildren, our friends and neighbors – all need us to have and be and do those things. What is good for us is good for them as well.

So, remember that this is the first day of the rest of your life. Prepare to make some happy changes.

First, allow special time for yourself on a regular basis. Pray, meditate, read a book for enjoyment.

Second, take time, make time, to exercise on a daily basis. Research abounds on the benefits of this, and your own body will concur, once given the chance to experience healthy movement.

Third, learn to say “No” when it is appropriate. Learn to graciously refuse to take on more than you can really handle well. Learn to delegate. How much of what you do now is something that someone else could or should be doing, or can easily be taught to do?

We sometimes hear or tell others to “Take care.” That really is just short for “Take care of yourself.” Great advice, don’t you agree?

That is it for now. Take Care! (grin!)

Diet Confusion Cleared Up

January 30, 2008 By: Robin Category: Diets and Recipes 2 Comments →

Okay. How many times has someone told you that they are “going on a diet”? We have all said that, Right?

However, the word “diet” simply refers to what we normally eat. It does not have to mean a restriction of food quantity or type. So, we do not have to groan when we hear the word!

Dieting does not have to mean doing without! What good news! Since our diet refers to what we normally eat, each of us is “on a diet”!

I chose to say, I am watching what I eat. Now, I know the joke comes to your mind about the “seafood diet.” When, I see food (seafood) I eat it! Haha!

Yes, this whole “diet thing” can be fun! Just decide it is, and it is!

Master Cleanse Secrets

January 30, 2008 By: Robin Category: Cleanses No Comments →

Okay. Most of us spend time on a regular basis cleaning our homes. We do some daily cleaning, some weekly, some monthly, and some seasonal, or yearly. We dust, scrub, sort, and eliminate the excess.

That process helps to keep our homes inviting, and functioning properly. Makes sense.

Well, our bodies need similar care.  It is obvious to most people that we need to take a bath and brush our teeth on a regular basis. But, we also need to be concerned about regular cleaning out of “sludge” on the inside of our bodies.

Our bodies are wonderful creations, but we can tear them down little by little when we don’t do some cleaning on the inside.

The Master Cleanse is not really a diet, though it is sometimes referred to as the Lemondade Diet.  It is a temporary dietary change that assists our bodies with elimination of buildup of toxins and waste.

It is difficult sometimes to stick to this very simple plan. I highly encourage you to check out this site for some help with following this highly effective and inexpensive way to revitalize your body.

Tip for Day 2

January 29, 2008 By: Robin Category: Daily Tips No Comments →

Resolve that you will NOT drink pop, or soda, depending on which part of our great country you hail from, any more!

That includes diet pop, and pop with out caffeine, as well as all the high sugar stuff. Studies have shown that diet pop is worse than regular, and they are all poison to our bodies.

Hydrate your precious body with pure water instead!

You can do it!

Welcome to my blog! This is the place to come daily for information, encouragement, tips, and accountability regarding all your diet and weight loss concerns.

The purposes of this blog are to review weight loss ideas so that you can save time, money, and frustration. There is no one who can lose your excess weight for you, but wouldn’t it be nice if someone could weed through the fad diets, and the unhealthy diets, and point you in the right direction?

Then, wouldn’t it be great if others were on the same journey and you could comiserate together and then encourage each other to keep up the good work?

How much money have you spent on diet products that didn’t work? How much money did you throw away on a diet that quit working as soon as you quit taking the expensive pills? We don’t even like to think about that!

Stick around and you will gain a new sense of hope, and a foundation for a longer, healthier life.

By the way, I believe that strangers are just friends that you have not met yet, and I do look forward to being friends with YOU!
