Defeat the Thoughts That Make You Fat!

February 23, 2010 By: Robin Category: Diets and Recipes, Recommended Resources

Having excess fat in our bodies goes beyond eating too many calories and not getting enough exercise. Our thoughts and our emotions play a major role. Until this time, that has not been well understood. The result is an increasingly obese society willing to spend billions of dollars pursuing weight loss goals and never achieving the desired results.

I recently discovered a great product that not only explains the role that thoughts and emotions play in our weight problems, it enables you to defeat those negative thoughts and emotions and begin to lose that excess baggage.

Component 4: Diet, Exercise and Attitude Video ($27 Value)

Component 5:  Guide to Adrenal Fatigue Video ($37 Value)

The product is Fat Is Not Your Fault and I highly recommend it. For only $97 it is a great investment in your future!

Note that it does come with a 60-day, 100%, money back guarantee, so the only thing you have to lose are negative emotions and fat!

Fit Over 40 Uses Common Sense

April 24, 2008 By: Robin Category: Exercises / Programs, Healthy Living, Recommended Resources

Would you like to increase your chances of living longer, healthier, more vibrant? Who wouldn’t!
Practical Life Extension
What Modern Science Says About Reversing The Aging Process

There’s an old proverb that rings with wit and reason: “Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die.” So why do we want to live forever? According to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, author of “Chasing Life” and CNN’s Senior Medical Corespondent, we do not.

The real quest isn’t eternal life on earth according to Gupta, but rather an exceptional life.

While interviewing the foremost authorities on anti-aging and life extension, Dr. Gupta discovered three “universals” — three principles that each researcher deemed critical to extending our lives naturally and empowering us to live exceptionally. They are:

1. Weight training
2. Good nutrition
3. Positive thinking and having purpose

Jon Benson, author of “Fit Over 40“, explores each of these in great detail, as well as asking 52 men and women how they have managed to slow the hands of time down to a crawl. Benson does not waste time with hype and hypothesis. He focuses on real-world examples and applications we can all use to slow down the aging process and help prevent and reverse the conditions that can lead to disease.

Discover more today at Fit Over 40!

You too can live a longer, more exceptional life by simply adopting a smart, realistic and enjoyable lifestyle fitness plan. And if science just happens to catch up with Father Time, you’ll be many steps ahead of the curve.

Thyroid Troubles and Diet Difficulties

March 31, 2008 By: Robin Category: Healthy Living

Well, how was your day?

I just came from my amazing chiropractor. I have been to a lot of them, and some of them are worlds apart in a better way than others. Have you experienced that?

Well, I have had difficulties losing weight, due in part to a sluggish thyroid. Lately, I have really been craving chocolate. I have always enjoyed chocolate, but never minded not having it on a regular basis. Now, I want it all day, every day! So, what gives?

Turns out my body is trying to tell me something. My thyroid is having trouble keeping up and my body is turning to a compound in chocolate to keep up. Well, the chiropractor told me of a super simple 30-second exercise to strengthen my thyroid.

He told me to take my two index fingers and apply deep pressure to the areas just below my nose, to the outside edge of my nostrils. I am to hold the pressure for a 30-count, 2 times a day, and get re-evaluated in a couple of months.

It is amazing to me how wonderfully our body is put together and the easy things we can do to support our health! But, I am not surprised, really. We have a fantastic Creator!

So, once again, I am not offering, and never will offer, health advice to you. I am not a doctor. But, I can tell you what I am doing, and what works for me!

Robin

–Who has to take 30 seconds to work those pressure points! :)

Let Your Food Be Your Medicine

March 31, 2008 By: Robin Category: Diet and Health

Food is Good Medicine!

For three years, I have suffered from bronchitis about this time of year. Last year it turned into pneumonia and I thought I was going to die! Those bouts came on and I would end up at the medical doctor’s office to try to get some relief.

That totally went against my grain, as I believe that doctors are great for things like car wrecks and broken bones, but not for allergies, viruses, bacterial infections, and the like.

It occurred to me one day, that Jesus said in His Word, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12 KJV

Well, in relation to healing, He NEVER ONCE healed with drugs, or surgery. So, I do not believe that drugs and surgery are the answer. I believe drugs are toxic, and dangerous, and not the best answer. That is simply what the medical doctors have been trained in. That does not mean they are the best answer, or the only answer.

People often turn to medicinal drugs in the hope and expectation of immediate relief from painful symptoms. Sometimes the symptoms are so uncomfortable that we “just have to have” instant relief.

If we have been careful and diligent in caring for what we have put in our bodies, we are less likely to have “dis-ease.” But what if we have not been kind to our bodies? What if we have let our immune system get run down? Is there any hope for those of us who want to find natural cures, and yet still need immediate relief?

The good news is that sometimes there is!

This year, our 12-year-old daughter developed a sore throat that went down into her chest. Now, every good mother wants to take away the pain from her child. So, what was I to do? Well, the solution was right in our cupboards! And no, it was NOT in the form of the remainder of an old prescription! Ha! How many of YOU have been THERE?

Would you like to know an easy remedy for sore throats? For bronchitis? For a cold?

(Now, you may be among those who believe that “the cold IS the cure.” That is why no one has found a cure for it! But, that is fodder for another article).

Would you like to save money? Would you like to save a trip to town to see the doctor? Would you like to have more power, more control, over your health and the health of your family members? Would you like a natural cure? Would you like a cure that did not even taste too bad?

You are no dummy, of course you would!

Here is what worked for my daughter. The results were amazing. She had been sick for 3 days before we started her on this remedy. We started her on it the third evening. The next day she was noticeably better, and the next day, she was completely better. It also worked for the children of a friend of mine, who became similarly ill about the same time. And, it worked wonders for me, as well. My sore throat developed into bronchitis and I was miserable. After two days on the following remedy, I am very much better. I am no longer concerned that my bronchitis may turn into pneumonia! Now, THAT is a blessing!

Fill a glass with about 4 to 6 ounces of warm water. Put about a teaspoon or so of raw honey in, and stir gently to mix. Then, add a few drops of Tabasco sauce, or other hot sauce, or a dash of red pepper. All ingredients are to taste. Use as much hot sauce as you can comfortably stand. Several times throughout the day, sip or gargle the mixture. Make fresh batches as necessary.

We also made sure to get plenty of rest and drank water, to assist our bodies in overcoming the illness.

As a side note, my husband did not get the sore throat. He almost never gets sick. He does, however, eat garlic and hot peppers on a regular basis, as well as raw honey. So, this remedy can be both a preventative, and a curative one.

Please note that I am not a doctor. You are responsible for your own actions and for whatever action you chose to make based on this information.

Have you had similar experiences with “home remedies?” I would love to hear your comments! See you in the forum!
